Visualising Music With Last.fm

I listen to music on my desktop machines and share the data with Last.fm. I also pay for the Last.fm subscriber service, as it allows me to find new and interesting music to listen to.

The amount of data that Last.fm have about music is truly astounding and you can do some pretty interesting things with the information if you know how.

Fortunately there are people out there who know how to make use of it!

Some of the things you can do with the data over on the Last.fm playground are pretty cool

Across The Universe - Watch It Now

Gladiator Soundtrack - Special Anniversary Edition

I picked up the "Special Anniversary Edition" of the Gladiator soundtrack on Amazon earlier this week. It's a lovely two disc set with disc two featuring some of the scenes from the film. Weren't they meant to be making a sequel or prequel?

Taxi Rocks

I'd forgotten how good the Taxi films were (the original French ones not the American junk pretending to be a film) My sister gave me the first two films on DVD a couple of years ago, but I lent them to someone and only got them back last week (note to self - don't lend that person DVDs if I want to see them again) Anyhow Taxi 3 was the only one of the trilogy that I didn't have a proper copy of, so I had to rectify that situation - so I popped over to Amazon.fr and grabbed a copy! E-commerce has its uses :)

Funnily enough I bought Wasabi from Amazon UK instead of Amazon France.

Morricone To Get Oscar

Ennio Morricone is to be awarded with an Oscar for his achievements. Although he was nominated 5 times he never actually won an Oscar!

Amazon France is 6 years old

The French branch of the Amazon empire is 6 years old. Happy birthday! I've been buying DVDs off it for the last couple of years as I either couldn't get them elsewhere or found that I was being charged premium rates. For example Banlieue 13 (District 13) has been available on DVD in France since late 2005, whereas the English version was only released on DVD in the last fortnight.

La Haine - Ultimate Edition

Just over 10 years ago Mathieu Kassovitz's dark film, La Haine, was first released. The ultimate edition DVD is a really cool release, as it is a numbered 3 disc limited edition set which comes in a very tasty metal tin. Not only do you get the film, but you also get the soundtrack and a new documentary - 10 years of La Haine. The special features are listed as follows:

When I was following the news of the 2005 riots in Paris I couldn't help but think of La Haine and now this DVD includes coverage of it all .... The Amazon list price shouldn't put you off, as you'll find market place vendors such as Caiman selling it for lower Edit: Image of the tin added
