Which Non-Stick Wok?

Since I got such amazing and helpful feedback from people when I posted about kitchen knives (I finally ordered some Wusthof ones) I was wondering if people had any thoughts on woks ..
Not all woks are made equal.

I like stir fry.

I don't like the way my wok seems to have a liberal interpretation of the concept of "non-stick".

I'm sick of everything sticking to its surfaces, so I want to get a new wok which will be truly non-stick and not overly fussy.

Can anyone recommend an idiot proof non-stick wok?

Looking at Amazon, it seems that "Wusthof" is one of those way-way-overpriced brands. So it doesn't seem like you actually listen to the advice ;).

Re woks - the only problem I've had is with teflon coming loose. Price does make something of a difference here - cheap woks and pans will leave little bits of black, carcinogenic material in your food. The £15 quid from M&S does not.

Other than that, teflon is pretty much teflon AFAICT.

If you're really having problems with things sticking, you need one or more of the following:

a) Turn down the heat
b) Add a little bit more oil or liquid
c) Spend more time on stirring

No doubt you'll still go and buy a 30+ quid wok. ;)

The knives are cheaper elsewhere :) Amazon's pricing is a LOT higher than some of the other vendors. I'll confirm the final price of my purchase once they tell me how much the shipping is!

As for the Wok - there's not M & S in Carlow, so I'll have to wait until I venture into Cork again to see what you're talking about. Was it their own brand?

Thanks

Michele

Yeah, it was their own brand. I think as long as you avoid the discount store £^H€5 woks, you'll be grand. The main point however is that cooking method has the greatest impact on sticking :) (teflon or no teflon).
