Irish Department of Environment Seeking Feedback on Sustainability

by in Thoughts :: Pensieri ::

The Department of Environment is currently seeking feedback and input from citizens on the National Sustainable Strategy.

Feedback is open until November 9th.

On a sidenote, can anyone explain to me why they’re using environ.ie while environment.ie seems to go nowhere, even though it’s own by the state?

well, that’s obvious – by abbreviating, they are saving the environment the problem of dealing with the friction heat that typing those four letters would cause.

It’s one of the oldest websites in the country, and I bet they kept it under EIGHT characters for reasons best known to dinosaur MS-DOS users. Same reason as the main State site is irlgov.ie, not government.ie?

@Francis – the irlgov.ie thing never made any sense to me!
