I like how they’ve hard-coded categories to exclude. Also how they’re using SELECT *, to maximise the chances of the thing breaking if the schema is changed.
You’d think they might be able to pay for a better developer, what with all those entrance fees…

Why would such a tiny site even need a database? It is a largely static site with minimal changes. It looks like an over-engineered piece of junk with nice shiny graphics added to distract from the poverty of the content.

The timestamp is server-side and since the site is hosted in the US the timestamps are several hours out of sync
