Harry Potter Pre-Release Pricing War

by in Cinema, cool, ecommerce, Harry Potter

One of the things about popular films is that they are guaranteed to create a sort of pricing war in the online shops.

The latest Harry Potter film is no different. The more popular online shops are listing the pre-release pricing and the deals are quite interesting, though Play.com seems to be slightly ahead of the crowd.

Now what on earth would I do with a Harry Potter doll?

Think, hd-dvd player from xbox 360 for 200 bucks. Then you only needs Windows (yeah I know, that hurts …).

I’ve been looking into multi-format players, but so far there aren’t that many on the market.
Of course I’d also need to upgrade my TV and my audio setup …

Audio setup, didn’t touch yet. Went for a new HD Ready TV though (Sony 32KDL3000, a multi award winner), perfect for standard streams and most HD content.
Bought a DVD upscaler too (went for the Sony rdr-hx750 since it was cheap and had hdmi+1080p upscaler) which makes a big difference even on normal DVDs.
The sound system would require a bigger place, so for my apartment right now, i left it alone. Besides, no full DTS-HD has been quite finalized yet.

Komplett (or peats even in Dublin) sells it for 1,100 euros, not a bad deal at all. It has all the things i can think of including a DVB-T for future proof.
