I don't pay much attention to Alexa ranking, but I know other people do...
Anyhow I see that the Irish webmaster forum is in the top 100 for Ireland, which is more than can be said for a number of Irish sites that seem to think that Alexa actually matters....

Congratulations Michele. Can I uninstall the Alexa toolbar now?
Nah, seriously. It is quite a large achievement, but should be noted that more webmasters have the toolbar installed than "Regular" users.
Dave
Why do you think I'm so sceptical? :)
Michele
I think it's now fair comment to say IWF is the top Irish webmaster board bar none.
Just need to get the word out some more :)
Well done Michele
(now how about naming some names )
By far! The only other one I knew about was the boards.ie forum and that was.....
The Enterprise Ireland mailing list can't really be considered a forum in the modern sense either.
What do you mean by names Richard?
I agree about getting the word out. Michele, I think a short advertising campaign with the riches you have reaped from the forum should do ;)
"a number of Irish sites that seem to think that Alexa actually matters…"
Those names.
Michele the socialiser hover pop-up is covering the adwords. Might that be a problem under Adwords TOS?
Richard - IrishDev for example ....
The hover is a simple "title=" tag afaik, so I can't see how that would break any TOS
TOS violation because it might lead to accidental ad clicking, possibly.
Everyone knows I'm not a PPC buff, but I thought you couldn't have anything that obscured the ad?
Oh I see the ads have moved now so this is actually a pointless comment :)
Out of curiosity, I am dreaming about the obscuring Adsense thing?
Richard
You're not dreaming about it, though I'd have to argue that I'm not obscuring anything as you can see the ads fine unless you have your mouse over the other element
I honestly wasn't sure, but just thought I'd mention it in case the little pop-up could cause you any trouble :)
But it's not a popup....
Sorry wrong phrase. Cant think of the word. pop-up thingey - you know what I mean :)
TOOLTIP'ish - that's what I'm trying to think of... phew
