Improving Adsense Contextual Ads on Blogs

by in Random

If you are running a blog with adsense you may have been plagued by the issue of the “blog” ads ie. all your posts regardless of their content display ads for blogs, bloggers, blog hosting etc.
One simple way of stopping that is to remove all reference to the terms in your blog templates. The change may not have an immediate impact, but it will over time

A simpler and certainly less awkward way, which I mentioned here , is just to use the google_ad_section_start et al. tags around the content bits of your blog. It seems to work well enough.

Rob – I tried that at one point as well, but even without it I found that removing as many references to the keywords I mentioned also worked well

I try not to use any words related to blogging or blogs on my posts which seems to work, well sometimes.
I’ll look at your tip more and see how it goes.
    Cheers.
