Eric Giguere’s mention of Text Link Ads had me in stitches this evening. While he does actually like the system their emphasis on Alexa ranking provoked this reaction:
Alexa is the SEO equivalent of a brown-paper-wrapped pornographic magazine. Sure, you’d like to believe that what’s inside is real, but you know that there’s a lot of airbrushing (oops, showing my age, I mean “photoshopping”) happening inside.

I like the idea behind TLA but the Alexa thing is a bit silly. Alexa in itself could definitely do with some fine tuning.
